Abstract:
The importance of this study on Hibiscus s6b(1ariffa flowers (chs tkugar-at e ) and lawsonia inermis leaves (El henna) . plants grown in certain area of Iraq for ~he possitility of investigeting their pharmacological haematological, Toxico-logical, antifungal and antibacterial activity.Results are summarized as follo~s:I. Pharmacological Studies:) Effect on rabtit intestinal motilityt invitro Hibiscus sabdariffa alcol01ic and ~atery extracts,produced inhibition of the isolated rabbit duodenum in doses beginning from 10 mg. for alcoholic extract and 5 mg. for wstery extract, added to 50 mills. bath. This inhibitoryeffects increased by increasing the dose as regards the alcoholic and watery extracts of lawsonia inermis, the same effect was yielded. as it produc ed gradual inhiti tion indoses beginning from 10 mgo for alcoholic c;nd 50 fig for ~atery extract which increased by increasing doses.Trials carried out to detercined the site of action revealed thEt bath plants act directly on the intestinalmusculature.
