Abstract:
The examined ten strains of Cl. chauvoei were isolated from the suspected cases of black quarter from different areas in Egypt. The isolated strains were identified by morphological, biochemical, slide agglutination testwith specific antisera and pathogenisolated culture suspensions from cooked meat broth 48 hours old, contained demonstrable haemagglutinin varied from dilutions up 1 in 16 to dilutions 1 in 64. The end titre of haemagglutinins which showed complete haemagglutination was 1 in 16 in 3 strainchauvoei haemagglutinin production, 8 different media were cultivated by a standard amount of the ten examined Cl.chauvoei local strains and incubated at 37°C for 48 hours.Three types of media yielded haemagglutinin end titre ranged from dilutions 1 in 32
