Antibody Response & Cellular Reaction in Guinea Pigs Induced by Smooth Irough Strains Of Brucella Abortus

-84-The immunse response to smooth (strain 19) andrough (strain 45/20) Brucella abortus was studied in guinea pigs. A total of 480 guinea pigs were devided into five groups. The first group was injected with living Brucella aborts strain 19, the second group with dead Brucell? §bortus strain 19, the thirgroup (96 animals was devided to 6 subgroups (16animalS). In order to avoid collecting blood twicefrom the same animal, half the animals (8 animalsin each group was examined serologically two weeks after injection and the other half was subjected atfirst to skin test and one week later to serologicaltests at the time of necropsy • The sera were collected weekly and examined by Rose Bengal, tube agglutination, mercaptoethanol and complement fixation tests.
