Abstract:
1.A total of 23l buffaloes were tuberculin tested with human, avian and bovine tubel’eUliDs, 19.9% buffaloesreacted positively to human tuberculin while 18.6 % reacted positively to bovine tuberculin.2.Twenty six reacted buffaloes ware slaughtered, 23 showed lesion when subjected to post-mortem examinationwhile reaoted positively to both human and bovine tuber- culins, 3 buffaloes showed no-lesion while reactedpositively to human tuberculin and negatively to bovine tuberpultn.3 Isolation and identification of acid-fast tuberclo bacilli were carried on 11 out of the 26 reacted buff a-lees. M. bovis was isolated from 9 animals showed lesion at post-mortem examination, while saprophytic acid fast baeilli were isolated from 2 buffaloes showed no lesion.4.Positive tuberculin reactor buffaloes were observed more frequently in aged and lactating than in young buffaloes.
