Abstract:
A study on surgioal affections . -causang lameness ineguines was I> erformed in tbis work in 1432 oases’. Moreattention bas been fooused on surveying these variousaffeotions from different districts among Sharkia Provinoe.These were in the form of 5}5 horses ranging 1.5 - 15 years,819 donkeys ranging 3 - 13 years and 78 mules ranging 5-20years- •. The affections were differentiated as fallows :-Shoulder 90, E1bow 51, ca~us 87, hip 72, stifle 35, hock101, tendons 592, splints 28, sessomoiditis 35, wind galls?8, bobba bone 26, Ring bone 35, sprain fetlock 48, sprain’~’astern 23, so,ping 19, and hoof affections 172 cases ( seedytoe 25, sand crack 14, coronitis 22, thrush 11, quittor12,side bone 6.pieked up nail 59t corn 14 and laminitis 9).On the basis of the present investigation it can beconcluded thats1. Oases of shoulderincidence in Zagazig whereand Kafr Sakkr.affectionslower levelsWere of higherin Diarb NegmWhile the iodine ointment is’ the- most effective in/ cases of contusions and sprains of the shoulder, thisointment as well as Tri B and sulpba iode B, injectionswere the most effective in cases of Radial and supra-scapularparalysis.
