Biochemical Study Of Some Anticancer Drugs On kidney And Liver Functions In Rabbits

Antineoplastic agent are widly used in teh treatment of different types of neoplasm. Three antineoplastic drugs were chosen in our investigation, these drugs include azathioprine, cyclophosphamide and Vincristine sulphate. These drugs are used by a wide ssome metabolic side effects of the prolonged administeration of thesedrugs could be expected. Fourty two males New-zealand white rabbits of the same age (3 months), an,cl weightingfrom 2.25 to 2.75 kg were used in this experiment.All. rabbits . were apparently healthy and free from systemic and parasitic diseases, and supplied the same feeding ration. Those animals were kept under the same environmental conditions and classified into 4 main groups as follows:Group I: Comprised 6 rabbits received no drug used as control group.Group 11 :Contained 12 rabbits receivd azathioprine orally and furthersubdivided into two subgroups, 6 rabbits each:Ha : Received azathioprine orally (0.19 mg/kg) for 30 days.Ilb : Received azathioprine orally (0.38 mg/kd) for 30 days .. Group III : Consists of 12 rabbits adminsitered cyclophosphamide orally and further subdivided into two subgroups each one contained 6 rabbits.
