Abstract:
thesis is presented atheoretical analysis and design of electro-optic travelling wave modulatores. to reach this object the following subject must be investigated:1-the dispersion and field distribution 2-the analysis of electrodes in integrated optics the dispersion characteristics and field distribution of a rectangular optical waveguide have been studied and the solution is based on the first perturbation method fpm and the effective index method eim.the coupling characteristics of passive directional couplers have been calculated by the approximate directional coupler theory appm and eim.the analysis of metal electrodes is based on the conformal mapping method cmm and the image method im. the effect of the buffer layer on the characteristics of the coplanar has been investigated.
