Nutritional assessement for the glass workers in Menufia Governorate

Abstract:
this study entailed investigating the nutritional status for the glass workers in menoufia governorate. the following tests and measurements have been done:- 1- studying the economical and social condition of the glass workers.The rate of ignorance among workers represents 5 1.33% , 7% of the town and village factories respectively, 24.67% the rate of simple reading in the town factory, while 37(Y<1 in the village factory. Concerning the number of family members: In general, 42%, 21 (Yo of the town and village workers have total number of family members more than six individuals, 54.7% , 67% of the town and village workers, their number of family members ranged between (4 _ 6) members, 3.3%,12% of the town and village workers their number of family members found to be ranging between 1-3. Asfor income, in the town factory, 12.7% of the workers their income ranged between I I 1 to less than 170 pounds., (30.70/0) their income ranged between 170 to less than 230 pounds., (52%) their income ranged between 230 to less than 350 pounds, and (4.J%) their income more than 350 pounds.While As for income in the village factory, \ IX> of the workers their mcorne ranged between I I I to less than 170 pounds., (1611(» their income ranged between 170 to less than 230 pounds., (68°lcl) their income ranged between 230 to less than 350 pounds, and (15<10) their income more than 350 pounds. Concerning the healthy housing conditions, it is found in the city that most of the workers live in muddy building and that represents 63.33°;;,. whereas 36.67% are for those who live in concrete houses. In addition to this, the town workers families live on special water taps, this rate represents 52<Y;>, then 33.33 % for those who live on pumps water, the last 1467% live on public taps. As for the village workers, it is found that 56% of workers families live in muddy houses, 44% live in concrete buildings. 2- types of food consuming are recognized by using the methods of interviewing workers to tell what have been eaten during the last 24 hours and filling the from, of qquestionnaire and by using the a nutritional computer program to analyse food, then turning what have been eaten to equal quantities of the following main food elements.
