Abstract:
The present work aimed to-1) Explore cisplatin induced acute renal failure and oxidative andnitrosative stress involved in its toxicity.2) Examine the effect of treatment by rHuEPO either alone orcombined with losartan and/or aminoguanidine, and their actionson deleterious effects of cisplatin. To fulfill such objectives, the following heamodynamic and biochemicalparameters were selected to be studied:1. Heamodynamic parameters : Blood pressure2. Biochemical parameter: In serum: creatinine , total nitrite and blood urea nitrogen. In whole blood: Hemoglobin, Heamatocrite, red blood cellscount, white blood cells count and platlet count. In kidney tissue: Reduced glutathione (GSH), catalase content and determination of lipid peroxide (Malondialdehyde),mRNA expression of: HO-1, iNOS, ET-1andVEGF
