Abstract:
Human kidneys are under assault from environmental toxins as well as an array of diseases that place them at risk of ultimately failing. 11% of American adults now show evidence of CRF, with over 400,000 afflicted with ESRD. Over 30% of those cases are caused by diabetes (Vaziri, 2004). Accordingly, there is a great need to focus on renal failure and get new solutions to face this problem. This study is divided into 2 major parts:I) CRF part:It was carried out to demonstrate the role of boswellia, ginger and AG in protection against CRF induced by oral administration of adenine in a dose of (200mg/kg, 3 times per week for 8 weeks) in rats. The protective effect was examined through the determination of serum creatinine, urea, BUN, LDH, MDA and CRP plus renal SOD levels in addition to electron microscopic examination of their kidney.II) ARF part: It was carried out to explore the prophylactic effect of boswellia, ginger and AG against ARF induced by RIR injury in rats.
