Different gram-negative bacilli were identified” and characterized from wastewater and machines of metal processing factories. Out of 160 isolates, Citrobacter freundii was predominant and represented about 47% of total isolates, Pseudomonas paucimobilis (19.4%), Pseudomonas flourescens ’(13.8%), Enterobacter cloacae (8.3%), Rhanetla aquatilis (5.5%), Klebsiella oxytoca (4%), and Envinia spp. (2%).Susceptibility of isolates for each metal was measured and showed that the most copper resistant strains were K. oxytoca (100%) and P. paucimobilis (81%) while, R. aquatilis (82%) and P.Jlourescens. (79%) were most resistant strains to iron. Lead resistance were shown mostly with P. paucimobilis (54%) and K. oxytoca (43%). The average copper MICs values of C. freundii, R. aquatilis, P. flourescens and P. paucimobilis ranged from 7.94 to 11.7 mg%, E. cloacae (5.8 -11.2 mg %), K. oxytoca (7.94 to 23.4 mg %). While, the least value was recorded with Envinia spp. (< 5.8 mg %). MICs values of lead with C. freundii were > 2.5 mg %, R. aquatilis (190-565.5 mg %), E, cloacae (< 431 mg %), P. flourescens* (> 215 mg %), P. paucimobilis (22-1125 mg %), Envinia spp. (< 330 mg %) and K. oxytoca (257 to 1125 mg %). The metal iron had different ranges with these strains, C. freundii and P. flowescens strains (79.4 to 140.6 mg %), R. aquatilis (80-1125 mg %), E. cloacae (66-281.25 mg%), for Envinia spp. (< 232.7 mg %), P. paucimobilis (26.3 -281.55 mg%) and K. oxytoca showed MIC range from 46 to 1125 mg %.23.1 kb for each. After copper treatment, the cells of C. freundii showed one large.
