Abstract:
The present research was proposed for modifying the solubility and the release of dipyridamole (DIP). It is used in thromboembolic disorders. DIP exerts part of its vasodilator action by raising the local concentration of adenosine in the heart muscle . These effects would prevent both platelets aggregation and the release reaction. DIP is practically insoluble in water and ether , soluble in dilute acids of pH 3.3 or below. This irregular solubility of DIP in various pH values causes incomplete absorption of drug from GIT, hence limits its bioavailability upon administration. In this research, some techniques have been adopted for modification of solubility and release of DIP via; solid dispersion , cyclodextrin complexation and granulation with certain polymers.
