Synthesis of some 1,2,4-triazolobenzimid-ozole Derivatives of Potential Biological Activity

1,2,4-Triazolobenzimidazole Derivatives-SynthesisThe current thesis is prefaced by a brief account about the clinically used drugs and biological activities of 1,2,4-triazoles , benzimidazoles , 1,2,4-triazolesbenzimidazoles , and 1,2,4-triazole fused to other heterocyclic rings .The several reported antimicrobial , analgesic , and antineoplastic activities of many 1,2,4-triazoles and benzimidazoles derivatives in addition to the few reported data about the biological activities of 1,2,4-triazolesbenzimidazoles prompted us to design and synthesize some new 1,2,4-triazolo[2,3-a]benzimidazoles to be investigated for their potential antimicrobial , analgesic , anti-inflammatory and antineoplastic effects .The starting material 1,2-diaminobenzimidazole , was prepared according to a reported procedure through the reaction of o-phenylinediamine with cyanogen bromide , followed by amination using hydroxylamine-o-sulfonic acid .
