Abstract:
The thesis is prefaced by a survey on the biologically active thiosemicarbazone derivatives.As a part of the program directed towards the design and synthesis of novel thiosemicarbazone derivatives as antidotal agents, the presented thesis reports on the synthesis, evaluation of the antidotal activities and investigation of certain pharmacological parameters of the most potent compounds. This study was then followed by the determination of molar ratio and apparent stability constant of complexes formed by copper II and mercury II with the most active derivatives.The design of the aimed compounds involved the synthesis of the following new derivatives :1- P-Acetylphenoxyacetic acid thiosemicarbazone.2- P-Acetylphenoxyacetic acid 4-ethyl thiosemicarbazone.3- P-acetylphenoxyacetic acid 4-butyl thiosemicarbazone.4- P-acetylphenoxyacetic acid 4-cyclohexyl thiosemicarbazone.5- P-acetylphenoxyacetic acid 4-phenyl thiosemicarbazone.6- P-glyoxalylphenoxyacetic acid his (thiosemicarbazone).7- P-glyoxalyphenoxyacetic acid his (4-ethyl thiosemicarbazone).8- P-glyoxalylphenoxyacetic acid his (4-butyl thiosemicarbazone).9- P-gyloxalylphenoxyacetic acid his (4-cyclohexyl thiosemicarbazone).10- P-glyoxalylphenoxyacetic acid this (4-phenyl thiosemicarbazone).
