Chimical Pharmacokinetics of certain oral Hypogly cemics

This thesis deals with the clinical pharmacokinetic of glibenclamide, an oral hypoglycaemic in patients suffering from diabetes alone, or those suffering from diabetes along .with other diseases as hypertension, obesity, liver or kidney impairment. Glibencl amide was selected as being one of the most effective and popular oral hypoglycemic. The current researches on pharmacokinetics of drugs are carried out mainly on healthy volunteers, or those suffering from specific diseases. The diseases selected are those for which the tested drugs are used for treatment, or those affecting the pharmacokinetics of the drugs, as kidney and or liver impairment. Little or unanimous studies were carried out on the clinical pharmacokinetics of the drug in patients with combined diseases, for that disease which the drug is used for treatment, along with those affecting drug disposition. The present thesis deals with this point. Thus the pharmacokinetics of glibericl amide In diabetic, diabetic-obese, diabetic- hypertensive , diabetic-with kidney impairment, and diabetic with liver impairment patients was studied in this thesis. These investigations essentiated for an applicable method for the determination of the drug in blood, namely, a high performance liquid chromatography before starting the invivo investigations.
