Analysis of some Broad Spectrum Antibiotics

PRE FACEThe era of antibiotics is still prevailing and flourishing. Every day, newer antibiotics, are being discovered and newer formulations are introduced.The word ”antibiotic was first used by Waksman in 1942, and is simply defined as an antibacterial substance from a living sou rce. Successive discoveries have added to the list of infections amenable to treat¬ment with antibiotics until nothing remains altogether un t o u c he d except the viruses.In this thesis, three groups of antibiotics are analytically studied as represented by amoxycillinjofthe penicillins group, fusidic acid, of the anti-bacterials’ group, and nvstatLny o f the antifungls’ group.
