Spectrophotometric & Spectroffurimetric Analysis of some Tricyclic Antidepressant Drugs

PrefaceIn this work, some tricyclic antidepressant drugs are studied namely amineptine hydrochloride, dothiepin hydrochloride, nortriptyline hydrochloride and clozapine.The development of selective and ac curate analytical methods ofr the eval;uation of triclycic antidepressant drugs wierh of great improtanve because of their wide application in medicine. Theses methods are required for the purpose of quality control of these drugs and their dosage forms.The aim of this study is to devlop specific and sensitive procedures for the assay of the previous durgs and the adoption of these method to be available for pharmaceutical preparations.The thesis falls in five parts:Part I:Demonstrates a thoreltical bacis background review on the prevous methods for estimation of the cited drugs.Part II:Concerns with a spectrophotometric method for determination of amine-ptine, clozapine and dothiepin through ion-pair formation method using thymol blue and bromophenol blue as acid dyes.Part III:Comprise a spetrophotometric procedure foe determination of amineptine c loza-pine, dothiepin and nortiptyline via charge transfer complex formation using DDQ and ρ-CA as -acceptors.
