Abstract:
Present work has been designed lo study and compare the effects of two ACHI, (captopril and enalapril), on some metabolic changes in carbohydrate, lipids profile (triglycerides, total cholesterol, MOLC and LOLC) insulin and electrolytes (sodium, potassium and calcium) levels in normal and STZ induced diabetic rats. Two division were carried .out, one dealing with normal animals and the second to ST7, diabetic rats. The effect of these categories was studied through oral administration of caplopril (2mg/kg body weight) and enalapril (0.33mg/kg body weight) daily on selected biochemical parameters. Both normal and STZ- diabetic animals were divided into seven subgroups as follows:Group 1: Control group received no drugs, but only the vehicle used for drug suspension.Croup2: Received captopril (2 mg/kg) per day orally for 4 weeks.Group 3: Received captopril ( 2 mg/kg)per day orally for 6 weeks.
