Abstract:
The prominent position , occupied by either inorganic cations or organic pharmaceutical ingredients, makes their determination a matter of foremost importance. The used pharmaceutical ingredients having different therapeutic actions . Among these compounds, the diuretics and antihypertensive drugs (spironolactone, hydrochlorothiazide, captopril and furosemide ) , the antimetabolite used in cancer chemotherapy (fluorouracil), the antianemic pharmaceutical ingredient iron, the antibiotics and antifungus nystatin and iodochlorhydroxyquin , the anti-inflammatory hydrocortisone acetate , the antirheumatic and analgesic sodium salicylate and the vitamins ascorbic acid and thiamine hydrochloride have been selected for the study presented in this work. The increasing interest for the use of U.V. Spectrophotometry, first & second derivative spectrophotometry and first & second differential derivative spectrophotometry in pharmaceutical analysis directed us in solving many problems.
