A Pharmacognostical Study of Amaranthus Chlorostachys willd family Amaranthaceae Growing in Egypt

Amaranthus chlorostachys willd Family , Amaranthaceae is a common wild Egyption plant growing in Nile-Delta. In view of the presence of mediciaally amportant contituents in plants of Family Amaranthaceae especially genus Amarnthus. their use in folk medicine and as the literature survey appears to lack any information about Amaranthus chlorostachys willd . Accordingly, it was deemed of interest to investigate Amaranthus cglorostachys aiming to evaluate this plant by determing its pharmacogoeial constants to isolate, characterise and identify. its chemical constitlents, as well as the study of its macro-and micromorphological characters to ease its identification in the entire or powderd form.
