New Methods for the Quantitative Determination of Certain Antihistaminic Drugs & Their Application in Pharmaceutical Preparations

The prominent position occupied by antihistamines makes their determination a matter of great importance. They are commercially available in oral, topical and parenteral forms. They are useful in the treatment of a variety of allergic manifestations as well as antiemetic.Attempts to develop simple, accurate, sensitive and applicable methods for the determination of antihistamines in pure and dosage forms are still needed.The aim of this work is to make an investigation about the extent to which derivative spectroscopy, charge transfer complexes and a ternary complex could be adopted for the simple, rapid and accurate determination of some antihistamines either in pure form or in pharmaceutical preparations.The thesis includes four parts :- part I : literature review :it includes a general introduction on the uses, structure activity relationships on the uses, structure activity relationships and the different methods used for the analysis of such group of drugs.
