Abstract:
A total of 52 pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were from various clinical cases of urinary tract infections, septic wounds, septic burns and from cornea1 damages.Based on morphological and biochemical characters, the microorganisms were identified. On appropriate media, all strains showed diffusible fluorescent pigments and most of them showed soluble phenazine pigment, pyocyanin (blue in neutral, medial colourless in alkaline and red in acid media) . On cetrimide agar, as a selective media, pseudomonas aeruginosa grow well and showed bluish green pigmentation.Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates showed resistance to chloramphenicol , neomycin , rifampicin and carbenicillin in 94.23% , 86. 54%, 80. 77% and 6l.54% respectively, while the strains exhibited a high sensitivity for cefoperazone, cefotaxime, amikacin and nitrofurantoin in 100% , 95. 31%, 85.54% and 82.69% respectively.
