Abstract:
N-desmethyldiazepam and chlordiazepoxide belong to the group of 1, 4-benzediasepines which’ possess lipophilic charac¬teristics and are almost insoluble in water. Detergents . added to water in concentrations above the CMC form micelles in which lipophilic drugs- can be considerably solubilized .This work represents a trial to solubilize the two drugs by different non-ionic surfactant solutions, in presence and absence of different additives and at various pH values. On the other hand, coprecipitates and surface deposited systems with certain carriers were prepared, and the rate of dissolution of the two drugs were studied from these systems. in different dissolution media. The non-ionic surfactants , were used as they have many advantages over the other the classes in, being non-toxic , non haemolytic and compatible .with the used medicaments.
