Parmaceutical Studies on certain cosmetic Sticksl

In the present work, elastosticks (sodium stearate-based sticks) have been selected as a topically applied cosmetic dosage form in which was incorporated some of the biologically active medicaments (panthenol, chlorphenesin and lignocaine) which have been long identified in the field of topical therapeutic application. It was, the target of the present. study to investigate the fundamental physical characteristics of elastosticks in order to envisage the various influences of this type of vehicles on its stability and suitability as a topically applied dosage form. The experimental work presented in. this thesis is a contribution to the study of elastosticks as a semi-solid topically applied dosage form and to the identification of the variables influencing the suitability and acceptability of this system in the field of application.
