Abstract:
The work done in this thesis embraces the following :PART I - Formulation , Stabilization , Dissolution and Bioavailability of Acerazolamide SuspensionThe following are the main items carried out in this part :Chapter 1: Influence of Stabilizers on Physical Stability of Acetazolamide SuspensionsThe work done in this chapter includes the following :1- Determination of Wettability of Aoetazolamide Powder :A. Relative to Non-ionic SurfactantsNon-ionic Surfactants exemplified by Myrj 53 Brij 35 Sp, Tween 20, Myrj 51 Brij 58 and Tween 80 were tried as wetting agents for the drug. Myrj 53 Tween 20, and Brij 35 sp were shown to be the beat wetters where Tween 20 (0.2 %) was chosen us it was adequate for the purpose.B. Relative to Hydroxy compounds represented by glycerin, ethyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sorbitol and polyethylene glycol 400 were tried as wetting agents for the drug in different concentrations. They Tailed to wet the drug particle a properly as there was a scum appeared at the surface of the suspension and did not vanish by time passage.
