the present study comprised 17 male patients with bilharzial liver cirrhosis aging from 20-40 years ( mean + S.D. 31 . 1+6) Beside the routine clinical and laboratory investigations , the diagnosis of Bilharziasis has been ascertained by rectal biopsy ( for detection of living Bilharzial ova) and ultrasonography ( to detect thickening of the protal tracts )Moreover some of the prepared new compounds were subjected to microbiological testing and the results obtained are summarized .The present investigation involves the synthesis of some unavailable starting materials and intermediates e.g. 2-Dimethylaminoethanol and N-Phenylhydroxylamine .
