Abstract:
PREFACEThe prominent position, occupied by either inorganic cations or organic pharmaceutical ingredients, makes their determination a matter of foremost importance. The used pharmaceutical ingredients having different thera¬peutic actions. Among these compounds, the diuretics and antihypertensive drugs (s pi ro no l act.o ne, hydrochlorothiazide, captopril and furosemide), the antimetabolite used in cancer chemotherapy (fluorouracil), the antianemic pharmaceutical ingredient (iron), the antibiotics and antifungus (nystatin and iodochlorhydroxyquin), the anti-inflammatory (hydrocortisone acetate), the antirheumatic and analgesic (sodi um sal icyla te) a nd the vi tami ns (ascorbic acid and thiamine hydrochloride) ha ve been selected for the study presen ted in this work. The increasing interest for the use of U.V. spectrophotometry, first & second derivative spectrophotometry and first & second differential derivative spectrophotometry in pharmaceutical analysis directed us in solving many problems.Thin-layer chromatography (’TLC) is one of practical technique on which separation is based.Charge-transfer complexes (CTC), require no complicated instruments and give accurate results, with advantage of sensitivity.
