Abstract:
Kanamycin, gentamicin and neomycin antibiotics are most effective and widely used in medicine. These antibiotics are used against gram positive and gram negative microorganism. In this work, attempts have been done to establish new spectrophotometric and polargraphic methods for their determination. Methods are based on Hantzsch reaction. In this re- action used acety acetone as diketone and formaldenyde as aldehyde and the aminoglycoside which contains primary amino group. In this work, another diketone is tried, ethyl acetoacetate with formaldehyde to give dihydrolutidine derivatives.Spectrophotometric and polarographic methods are considered simple, sensitive and time saving methods in comparison to other techniques. The two methods are applied on the pure drug and in its pharmaceutical pre-paration. Results obtained are compared with official B.P. method. The proposed methods have the same accuracy and precision. The structure of the dihydrolutidine derivatives obtained using the 2 ketone was verified by U.V., I.R., N.M.R. and elemental analysis.
