Abstract:
I. Phytochemical Study of Euryops arabicus Steud. Euryops arabicus Steud. is a shrubby plant, growing wildly in the mountains of Abha, Saudi Arabia. The powdered plant was extracted with a mixture of light petrohum, ether and methanol (1:1:1). The obtained extract was concentrated and fractionated by Si gel column chromatography which afforded nine 1r,c t ions, where only six frac t ions have been investigated.fraction 1 100% PE Fraction 2 10% E / PE Fraction 3 25% E/PEFraction 4 50%E/PE Fraction 6 10%MeoH/E Fraction 9 100%MeoH.Fraction I gave 200 mg caryophyllene, 300 mg -cadinene.Fraction 2 gave 500 mg angelic acid and 250 mg methacrylic acid.
