Abstract:
One hundred and twenty three of urine samples were collocated from patients suffering from urinary tract infection in Assiut the samples were collected males by using to mid-stream voided urine method and from females by catheterization. The bacteriological examination of the samples revealed that Priteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa represented the highest frequencies . Streptococcus faecalis beta heamolytio streptococci and indol-positive Proteus were the least isolated organisms.A total of 136 (out of 126 cases) isolated were examined for their susceptibility to the antibiotics using a standard disc-diffusion technique.Amikacin , gentamicin , tobramycin , oephloridine and rifamycin SV were effective on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms.Pseudomonas strains were resistants to most of the tested drugs. Fortunately amikaoin showed very high activity against these isolates , followed by tobramycin and gentamicin .
