Abstract:
Twenty one fungal isolates, were recently isolated from pharmaceutical raw materials of either Plant or animal origin as well as various commercial children-syrups .Czapeck-dox agar medium proved useful for the isolation , and tentative identification of the fungal isolates . The percentage distribution of fungal genus in our study, showed that Aspergillus and Penicillium genera were Predominant , and isolates of either Alternaria Trichodama, Paecileomyces or Trichgderma species were also encountered. Of these 15 Aspergillus isolates were screend for their ability to produce aflatoxin on YES medium. Four isolates namely A .flavus F2 A. heterorhallicus F4 , A.oryzae F5 and A . lavus F9 , Produce aflatoxin profile of B & G . whereas 3 isolates namely A.flavus F1 A .conicus ,F6_ and A .flavus F10 produce aflatoxin profile of B,G.B_& G . On the other hand A .flavus F11 and A.fumigatus produce aflatoxin B1B2 & G2 respectivily .whereas A . flavus F3 and A.flavus F8 produce aflatoxin profile B1 & G 1.
