New Instrumental Methods for Determination of some Bronchodilator compounds Containing Phenolic Group

AIM OF WORK Pharmaceutical analysis of bronchodilator is required for the purpose of quality control of thesedrugsln pu re and in the dosage forms, for drugs tability as well as for the study of drug absorption and pharmacokinetics. Contributions to studies in this field are desirable a rid there is a growing need for the development of simple specific methods [or evaluation of such drugs.Colorimetric methodsareconsidered simple,sensi Li ’.TP and time saving l n comparison toother tech¬niques thdteither lack specificity, consume much time, require large quantities of the sample or necessi tate the availability of expensive instruments.In this study, the aim is to concentrate on the analysis of two of such drugs, orciprenaline and terbutaline sulphate. The selection of such compounds was done on the basis of the presence of phenolic hydro¬xyl groups in their molecules. These compounds are of mdrked spread use in medicine.accordingly reactions such as nitrosation, dia¬-z ocoupLinq , and nitration were studied as a means of chemica 1modification 0f the compounds leadi ngto theformation of chromogens that are quantitatively assayed.
