Abstract:
The. present work was carried out to investigate the effect of some ant diabetic .drugs, namely insulin., gliben-clamide. metformin and the combination of glibenclamide with metformin on certain biochemical aspects in .diabetic subjects, normal and STZ-diabetic rabbits as we 1.1 as the histop-atho-1ogical changes which occurs-in both liver, and pancreas in . STZ-diabetic experimental animals .We assessed the influence of such drugs on the metabolism through determination of the plasma levels ,of glucose, some hormones (insulin, c-peptide T3 & T 4 ) , intercellularmessenger. (cAMP). lipid fraction, (total lipid cholesterol.. triglycerides, pliospholipids) as well as plasma electrolytes( Na + , K + Ca 2+ , Zn 2+)This investigation was carried out on diabetic patients and an experimental animals (rabbits)1- Diabetic patientsDiabetic patients receiving the above motioned drugs, were selected from Zagazig General Hospital (Ahrar) there age ranged between (38-52) years and’ the duration of the disease among those patients was (4-8) years , in addition to normal and diabetic untreated patients which were served as controls.
