A Pharmacostical Study of Bidens pilosa linn Family compositae Growing in Egypt

Bidens pilosa L. Family compsitae is a common plant growing in Egypt where it grows in Mariut; Montaza; Alexandria-West and East; Mandra; Abukir; Ismaitia; often on borders of irrigation canals;ray-sides in wast places.it was repoted to be used as hypoglycemic . antibacterial mtispasmodic and antidiarrheal drug.in view of its important folkloric uses, presence of important ∞mpounds previously isolated from plants belonging to tribe seliaotheae it was deemed of interest to carry on a comprehensive pharmacognostical study , a phytochemical investigation as well as biological & antimicrobial screening of the plant extract & the isolated ∞ mpounds.
