Synthesis and Biological Activity of some Novel Heterocyclic compounds containing sulphur of Pharmaceutical Interest

A general survey of the different synthetic procedures used and chemistry of symmetrical and unsymmetrical azines is presented. Likewise the different methods of preparation and biological activities of thieno [2, 3-d] pyrmidin-4-(3H)-ones is mentioned.A simple, convenient, and general route to unsymmetrical azines is developed. The novel procedure provides an excellent access to this class of compounds without the untoward side products and the disadvantages of the reported methods.This work provides also a suitable explanation for the incomplete hydrazionylsis of thioxo-compounds.Moreover, some of the prepared new compounds were subjected to pharmacological and antimicrobial testing and the results obtained are summarized.
