Abstract:
The present studies deals with 30 isolates belon¬ging to the red aeries of streptomycetes, obtained from different soil samples from different localities of Egypt, Isolates have been differentiated into 3 sections according to the morphology of spore chains. The extensive screening Op the experimental iso¬lates against a wide set of fungi revealed strong antifungal potentialities for one single isolate designated as i0olate no.Special interest was paid to the study of this antifungal antagonistic isolate. Morphological exami¬nation of the spore chains of isolate R. showed that it produces straight long chains of spores and accor¬dingly this isolate belongs to the morphological sec¬tion ”RECTUS”Electron microscopic examinations of the experimen¬tal isolate showed that it produces elongated cylindrical spores with bare smooth surface. Ho hairs, spines or other outgrowths were observed
