Abstract:
In this thesis, different in-situ polymerization techniques were employed on one and the same model drug, hydrochlorothiazide, and the resultant forma were subjected to detailed pharmaceutical investigations, Two of these products which proved to show favourable qua¬lities were prepared into regular capsule form and were blopharmaceutically evaluated, both in-vitro, and in-vitro on a group of human volunteers. The body of this thesis, however, embraces a variety of objectives, for which reason it was subdivided into four main parts :PART (1)Application of In-situ Solution Polymerization for the Preparation of Hydrochlorothiazide Granular Microcapsules (GM) Using Methylmethacrylate. In this part, different concentrations of the monomer were employed and the different GM products were pharmaceutically assessed. It was proved that suitably granular microcapsules were only achieved within a monomer concentration range between 7,5 and 12,5 percent. Optimal polymer, and available medica¬ment-contents, however, resulted using 3-2,5 percent
