Abstract:
Polymers and macro molecules, whether of natural, synthetic or sernisynthetic origins, have acquired an ever- increasing importance in Pharuaceutical researches. Diclofenac Na is a potent antirheumatic , anti-inflammatory and analgesic Compound. The very rapid absorption and elimination of diclofenac Na is man necessitate its administration, as prolonged release dosage form so that a steady-state blood level is achieved. The work in the first part representS several trials to investigate the effect of some pH dependent Eudragits ( namely Eudragit L-90,. S-90, L-100 and S-100) and pH independent Eudragits (namely Eudracit RL-100, RS-100 RLPM and RSPH) on the release of diclofenac Na from its tablets and to produce diclofenac Ha tablets in timed-release form via coprecapitation technique. The different tablets. were prepared by direct compression. Each tablet conta¬ined -50 mg of diclofenac Na. The in vitro release of diclofenac Ha from its tablets was determined in buffer solutions of gradient pH change corresponding to the change within the gastro-intastinal tract, using rotating bottle’s apparatus.
