Abstract:
PREFACEAntibiotics (amoxicillin, cephalexin, kanamycin, gentamicin and amikacin) are one of the most effective and widely used in medicine. These antibiotics are used against gram positive and gram negative micro-organisms.In this work, attempts have been done to establish new polarographic method for the determination of amoxi¬cillin, cephalexin and certain aminoglycoside antibiotic including kanamycin, gentamicin and amikacin. The thesis falls in three parts.Introduction:Review on the polarographic theory.Part I:A new polarographic method for determination ofamoxicillin, this method depends on the hydrolysis of amoxicillin at pH 5.0 by using McIlvaine buffer in waterbath at 900C for 180 minutes. This method was used for determination of amoxi¬cillin in pure form and in pharmaceutical dosage form.
