Abstract:
Synthesis & properities of quinazolones derivatives. Attempts to develop simple, accurate and sensitive methods for the determination of some antispasmodics of both in pure form and in pharmaceutical preparations were carried out. The thesis consists of three parts:Part I :This part includes a general introduction and can be classified as follows :a) Definition of quiazolines, their uses and mode of action.b) A historical introduction for quiazolinesc) Chemical classification of the quiazolines.Part II :It includes a literature review of the published methods for the analysis of quiazolines.Part III :This part deals with the development of analytical methods for the determination of the three antispasmodics both in the bulk powder and in their pharmaceutical preparations. It includes the following :a) Colorimetric method for the determination of propantheline bromide :The proposed methods are based upon dye – salt formation using two different systems, the first system depends on the reaction of propantheline with the anionic dye trope Olin ooo, while the second depends on its reaction with cresol red.b) Colorimetric determination of oxyphencyclimine hydrochloride :Two different methods were developed for the analysis of oxyphencyclimine. The first, is a dye-salt formation method that based on reaction with the anionic dye trope Olin ooo. The second depends on reaction between the tertiary amino group in oxyphencyclimine and the citric acid – acetic anhydride reagent, to develop a reddish violet colour.c) Colorimetric determination of quiazolines :Two methods were proposed, the first is a dye-salt formation method using trope Olin ooo while the second depends on the reaction with the citric acid-acetic anhydride reagent.Discussion of the obtained results is given at the and of the experimental part for each compound.
