Abstract:
The present work has been designed to study theof chronic gonadotrophin (HOG)at a dose level (50 Iu/day) and clomiphene citrate (clomid) at a dose level of (50 rag twice daily), on blood glucose, ascorbic acid and lipid metabolism in male and female albino rats.Male and female rats were divided into] groups of 24 each . Each group was subdivided into 3 subgroups to study the effect of each of the two drugs administered for 15,30 and 45 days respectively.HCO was injected S.C in rats while clomid administered orally. A group of animals injected with saline and consid¬ered as control. .Blood samples were collected for determination of glucose and plasma was separated for ascorbic acid and lipid determination.Samples from testis and ovaries were also, prepared for estimation of their ascorbic acid and lipid contents.Lipid extracts from plasma were fractionated using thin layer chromatography into different lipid fractions.
