Abstract:
The results : 1. None significant and clear ultraviolet absorption for captopril was observed in either aqueous acidic medium or aqueous alkaline one. br 2.HPMC 15000 cps and HPMC 4000 cps have good floating properties beside their well known release retarding characters. 3.Sodium bicarbonate confirms and maintains the floating characters of the dosage form. 4.Formulae with low capttopril:HPMC ratio had longer release time and longer floating properties as compared with formulae withhigher ratios. 5.Tablest had longer release times than capsules with the same formulan composition. 6.Various kinetic models were applied to ascertain the release mechanism.
