Abstract:
The genus Lepidiuin belonging to F, Cru.ciferaecomprises nearly 130 species, among which pidiumsativum L. grows in Egypt as mnua1 herb.Lepidiuan seeds are used to relieve pain (e.g. sciatica, joints, tooth pain., ...etc.). Also, are used against liver, kidney and spleen diseases and in treat— ment of diarrhea, bleeding and snake poison, Lepidiuni is used to prevent hair falling, and for treatment of some skin diseases.The present work is carried with the an ofidentification and investigation of different constituents present in tIne plant, The study includes :PART I -. Includes a botanical study.,PART II— includes a phytoohemioal stu& of the different organs of ]4i sLvurn L.PART I : BOTANICAL STUDYIncludes : [(a) Macronioiojpd4um sativum L. is an annual herb reaching30 — 60 cm in length.
