Abstract:
Iodochlorohydroxyquinoline ( Vioform ) is a well know drug for both internal and external uses in medicine . Internally , it is used in the treatment of amaebic dysentery , diarrhea and digestive disorders , Externally , Vioform in used in the majority to topical applications including creams and ointments , The compound is used in ointment from in the treatment of a wide range of dermatological disorders . It has an anti-eczematic , antibacterial and antifungal activity . In most cases , Vioform us prescribed with cortisone or its derivatives in ointments and creams . Also , it can be combined with other drugs rather than Hydrocortisone end subsequently used in various topical applications . The addition of surface active agents increase the bactericstatic effects of halogen substituted 8-hydroxy- quinolines against various microorganism in vitro . Viofrom may suffers from certain chemical incompatibility when mixed with sulphur and / or zinc oxide .
