Abstract:
this thesis embraces the following I – Formulation , Stabilization , and Acid Consuming Capacity of Aluminum Hydroxide SuspensionThe following are the main items carried out in this part : <Chapter I - Influence of Stabilization on the Physical Stability of Deflocculated Aluminuim Hydroxide Suspensions .Several naturally occurring gums represented by gum acacia, gum tragaoanth, agar agar and sodium alginate were tested as stabilizer a for deflocculated aluminuim hydroxide suspension. Gum acacia tried in cither 6, G or 10 per cent was shown to be inferior otabiliaor forthe purpose producing caked suspensions within one month. On the other hand, gum tragacanth in 0.2 and 0.4 per cent-succeeded to stabilize the drug suspension. In addition. agar used in cither 0.5 or 0.75 per cent was found to be satisfactory stabilizer for the deflocculated drug suspension, unfortunately that suspension stabilized with 1.0 per cent agar suffered from coking after one month.
