Abstract:
Penicillin Derivatives.Penicillin derivatives are one of the most effect¬ive and widely used group of antibiotic uaod in medicine, The work on methods of production, determination of th¬eir structures and the syntiaesis of the penicillins pro¬vide on of the iost interesting accounts of modern scion -tifle achievement. It was still regarded as one of the most effective therapeutic agent for the atmeat T in¬fections caused by a wide range of gram-positive bacteriaand ram-negative cocci.penicillin G was the first antibiotic to be produced on a commercial scale and is still a most important ther¬apeutic agent. It’s sodium, potassium , ammonium and cal¬cium lts are virtually non-toxic to mammals. luble salts formed with organic -bases e.g. procaine, are fre-quwtly used to delay adsorption from the site of injec-t uon, thereby prolonging the period of action res¬istant penicillin. Several analogues of benzyl penicil-Jin’have proved more stable to acids a ad therefore a ait-able for oral adminstration.ijodc are derivatives
