Solubilization and Stabilization of Certain Medicaments

The work done in this thesis embraces the following : A . Part I : Solubilisation and Stabilisation of Meclizine Dihydrochloride .The following are the main items studies in this concern :Chapter I : Solubilisation and of Meclizine Dihydrochloride using Non-ionic Surfactant and Co-Solubilizers : 1- Several non-ionic surface active agents were used viz . , Teen 80 , Tween 20 , Brij 35 ( S.p.( , Brij 58 , Myri 53 , and Myrj 55 for solubilization of meclizine dihydrochloride . All these tested surfactants in 5% concentrations succeeded to solubilize the therapeutic recommended dose ( 25-50mg) from the drug 5 ml .2- Co-solvency technique was adopted for solubilization of the drug using certain solvents viz ., propylene glycol , polyethylene glycol 400 , orbital , benzyl alcohol and absolute alcohol either alone or in results obtained revealed that a blend of 2.5% Tween 80 with either propylene glycol (10-50%) or polyethylene glycol 400 (20-50%) increased the solubilizing power of Tween 80 towards melamine dihyorochloxice .
