Abstract:
Simple methods were suggested for the preparation of the organic radio-pharmaceuticals, Thyroxine-131 I triiodo-thyronine-131 I and Hippuran- 131 I for applications as dia¬gnostic agents in the field of nuclear medicine.Under the described conditions, a radiochemical yield over 90-95% was obtained. The different factors which might affect the rate of the isotopic exchange reaction of the radioiodine-131 with the organic substrate were investigated and amply discussed. The best yields with short time were obtained on car¬rying out the labelling reaction in an organic medium (96% ethanol-ether in the labelling of Thyroid hormones and absolute ethanol-ether in the labelling of hippuran).Description of the methods and the techniques of labelling and the path through which the isotopic exchange occurs were investigated and the mechanism of every reac¬tion was attempted. In the present study, the following problems were elucidated
