Radiopharmacutical studies of some drug Labelled with 99 mtc

The present work aimed at the investigation of some fundamental aspects related to the production of 99m Tc and its labelled human serum albumin microspheres The research aspects and results of the present work are the Preparation of 99m Tc by Solvent Extraction :Solvent extraction of 99m Tc from 99m Mo (as Na2 99 MeO4) was investigated with ketenes (MEK, acetone, MIBK) which were chosen from the different solvents reported in the literature for the analytical separation of Tc from Mo and other elements.One of the disadvantages of extracting 99m Tc by ketones in alkaline solution is the notable formation of aldol condensation impurities in the 99 Mo aqueous alkaline solution, which appear in the final. 99m Tc product, Since aldol formation is catalysed by hydroxide or carbonate ion it can be avoided by extracting 99m Tc in a ketone from neutral 99 Mo solution. Also, the salting-out effect of different salts studied in order to choose the salt which increases the extraction efficiency of 99m Tc and decreases the 99 Mo con¬tamination of the final 99m Tc product.
