Abstract:
In this work the interaction between acetyl salicylic acid and phenindione revealed the following :1- Aspirin alone causes moderate but reversible depression of prothrombin index . Also it produced a significant decrease in fibrinogen content of blood and level of serum total calcium .2- Dindevan alone causes marked depression of prothrombin index and significant decrease in fibrinogen content of blood and level of serum total calcium3- The combination of the two drugs causes highly significant decrease in prothrombin index , higher than each drug alone but such a combination have no potentiating action on blood fibrinogen and serum total calcium .4- The enhancement of action of dindevan by administration of aspirin on prothrombin index is further confirmed by the results of the fourth experiment.
